Iron Integers Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

In short

Iron Integers is a math facts game for children, made by Volker Tech, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). We do not collect personal information from anyone who uses it. The app has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases. A child's practice stays on their iPad and, if iCloud is on, in their own iCloud account, which we cannot see. A grown-up can choose to share that practice with a parent.

What the app keeps on the device

To schedule practice and show a grown-up how it is going, the app keeps:

  • The practice history: which math facts were asked, the answer given, whether it was right, how long it took, and when each practice session started and ended.
  • The practice level and the app's settings, such as sound volumes and left-handed writing.
  • The grown-ups passcode, stored only as a scrambled (salted and hashed) value, not the digits themselves.

Handwriting is recognized on the device. For a finished answer the app keeps only the number it read, not the drawing. A battle that is paused keeps the unfinished drawing so it can carry on, and replaces it when play continues. The robots' voices are also made on the device.

The app never asks for a child's name, age, email address, photo or location, and it does not use the camera or microphone.

iCloud

When the iPad is signed in to an Apple Account with iCloud, the app saves the practice history to that account's private iCloud storage, so it comes back after the app is reinstalled or on a new iPad. This is on unless a grown-up turns off Save to iCloud in the app's grown-ups area. Without iCloud, the app works fully on the iPad alone.

Apple stores this data under Apple's Privacy Policy. It stays in your iCloud account. We cannot access it.

Sharing progress with a parent

In the grown-ups area on the child's iPad, a grown-up can choose Share progress to invite a parent through Messages or Mail. Only people who are invited and accept can see the shared practice. On their own device, they see the same practice history and progress report, and the practice level. The practice the app keeps only for scheduling is never shared.

Stop sharing, in the same place, ends the share, and the people it was shared with stop getting new practice. What their device has already shown stays on that device.

Deleting the data

  • Deleting the app removes everything it keeps on the iPad.
  • Turning off Save to iCloud stops new practice being saved to iCloud.
  • To delete what is already in iCloud, open the Settings app, go to your Apple Account's iCloud storage, choose Iron Integers, and delete its data. The app notices and stops saving to iCloud.

Children

Iron Integers is designed for children, with a grown-up setting it up. We do not collect personal information from children or anyone else. Settings that involve iCloud or sharing are behind the grown-ups area, which needs a passcode a grown-up chooses on first launch.

The app has no advertising, no purchases, and no links to websites.

Beta testing

If you test a beta version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares with us the information TestFlight provides to developers, such as crash reports, the feedback and screenshots you choose to send, and the device model and system version. If we invited you by email, we also see the name and email address we used. We use this only to improve the app. See Apple's TestFlight terms for details.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
